As part of efforts to increase patronage at the Eastern Ports, the management of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has approved a ten Percent (10%) discount on harbour dues in all concession terminals at the Eastern Ports.
A statement issued by General Manager, Corporate and Strategic Communications, Jatto A Adams explained that the initiative which takes effect immediately will be implemented at Calabar, Rivers and Delta Ports.
Under the arrangement, the discount will only apply to harbour dues payable by the following types of vessels/cargoes: Container vessels with at least 250 TEUsGeneral Cargo vessels with at least 16,000 MTCombo Vessels with at least 16,000 MTRORO Vessels with at least 250 units of Vehicles.
The statement explained that these discounts shall not apply to:Vessels coming INBALLASTVessels calling at private jetties.Vessels calling carrying Liquid bulk.
