The people of Oleh in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State were in grief and tears weekend, as the body of the late Miss Elozino Ogege, who was killed by suspected ‘money ritualists,’ was buried.

Elozino was killed by suspected money ritualists, known as ‘Yahoo Plus’, on November 15, 2018, four days after she was declared missing. The killers reportedly removed her vital organs.

The 22-year-old was a 300 Level student of the Department of Mass Communication of Delta State University (DELSU) when she was hacked down by her assailants.

Her remains were buried at the weekend amidst tears by students, family members, relatives, friends’ and students, who thronged the venue.

The apex socio-cultural umbrella of the Isoko Nation, Isoko Development Union (IDU), and its youth wing, Isoko National Youth Assembly, were also present at the funeral.

At the brief church service in honour of the deceased by Anglican Diocese of Oleh, sympathisers who had travelled from across the state, sobbed ceaseless as they watch the body laid to rest.

Bishop John Aruakpor, Bishop of the Diocese of Oleh, who officiated at the ceremony, condemned the gruesome killing of the student, urging the state government to ensure that the killers were brought to justice.

Aruakpor, who was represented by Ven. Richard Oziwele, lamented the get-rich-quick syndrome of youths, leading to ritual killings.

He urged the present day youths to steer clear of evil and repent, describing eternal death as the ultimate end of anyone chasing ill gotten wealth.

The students of the institution presented an album in memory of Elozino, even as Bishop Aruakpor urged Professor Stephen Emeosairue, Provost of Oleh campus of the institution, members and executive of Isoko Development Union, to produce the album in quantity and ensure it went wide.

Miss Ogege’s body was finally lowered to the grave after several tributes by past and present presidents of the Student Union Government (SUG) of DELSU and students of the institution.
