“The Godfather Of National Ruin Has No Moral Right To Speak“ – Lagos APC Fires Back At Atiku
The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a blistering response to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s recent remarks accusing both the PDP and APC of plunging Nigeria into insecurity and hunger, describing his comments as “delusional” and “shameless.”
In a strongly worded statement signed on Sunday by its spokesman, Hon. Seye Oladejo, the Lagos APC said Atiku lacked the moral authority to speak on Nigeria’s current challenges, insisting that he played a central role in creating them.
“Atiku Is the Grand Architect of National Ruin”
The party accused Atiku of masterminding what it termed the “infamous national assets auction,” alleging that key public enterprises were sold cheaply to cronies during the privatization exercises he supervised as Vice President.
“Factories died. Jobs disappeared. Industries collapsed,” the statement said. “Today, the same man pretends he played no role. This is hypocrisy elevated to legendary audacity.”
The Lagos APC argued that insecurity and economic hardship in the country can be traced to the years of PDP rule, during which Atiku was a major power broker.
According to the statement, “Boko Haram grew from a fringe sect into a national menace during PDP’s watch. Corruption became a state religion, oil wealth was squandered, and poverty ballooned.”
“Atiku was not an observer—he was the engine room,” the party added.
The Lagos APC described Atiku as a serial presidential contestant who, despite decades in public life, has “nothing to show but controversies, contradictions, and comical political migrations.”
The party also questioned his performance in his home state, Adamawa, claiming it remains plagued by poverty, illiteracy, and unemployment despite his long political influence.
“If Adamawa remains underdeveloped, what standing does he have to speak about national progress?” the statement queried.
“A Wandering Political Relic”
The statement further took aim at Atiku’s frequent party switches, describing him as “a wandering political relic… auditioning for any party willing to pity him.”
The Lagos APC said even “political archaeologists would struggle to classify what Atiku now represents.”
The party insisted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently repairing decades of systemic decay allegedly inflicted by the PDP and Atiku’s “gang of economic vandals.”
“Tinubu is rebuilding the security architecture, resetting the economy, and driving national reforms,” it said. “Atiku cannot destroy the house and then complain that the carpenters are sweating.”
“Bow Out Before History Throws You Out”
The Lagos APC urged Atiku to retire from politics, saying he has been “rejected by Nigerians, rejected by his state, rejected by his party, and rejected by time.”
The statement suggested that the former Vice President should spend his remaining years apologizing to the nation for the “monumental economic and political crimes” committed under his watch.
The Lagos APC concluded that Atiku remains one of the major contributors to the insecurity, poverty, and economic distress he now criticizes.
“His sudden righteousness is nothing but the obituary notice of a failed political career,” the statement said.
The party vowed not to allow “yesterday’s architects of national disaster” to rewrite Nigeria’s history.
