Publisher of the award winning general interest magazine, First Weekly, Mr. Dayo Asaju, on Sunday spoke to former Nigerian military president, General Ibrahim Babangida (retd.) to confirm his purported death rumour, which broke out early Sunday morning.

Speaking in a telephone interview from his Lagos residence, the veteran and successful journalist, Mr. Dayo Asaju disclosed that General Ibrahim Babangida laughed off his purported death rumour.
He noted that IBB described the death rumour as hate speech.
The confirmation has since put paid to the death rumour of General Ibrahim Babangida (retd.)
According to Dayo Asaju, the former head of state is hale and hearty and his death rumour is a figment of the imagination of rumour peddlers.
