Covid-19 : Lawmaker Reiterates The Need for Social Distancing
A member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Gbolahan Yishawu representing Eti-Osa constituency 02 has reteirated the need for social distancing to curtail the spread of COVID-19 in the State.
The lawmaker who has been creating awareness and educating his constituents on the need to observe good hygiene, said everyone must adhere strictly to the directive of the State government to drive away the deadly virus.
In a statement issued by his information office on Wednesday, Yishawu who is Chairman House Committee on Budget and Economic Planning said people should not joke with the present situation but to do the needful and stay back home, as much as they can.
“We have been creating awareness and educating people most especially my constituents, on the need to adhere strictly to government directive. For instance, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said markets, stores should be closed by Thursday to curtail the spread of COVID-19. Lagosians must cooperate with government to fight against this virus.
“We are in a critical time that everyone must work together to achieve the same goal. Stop Covid-19, practice social distancing and observe good hygiene. Government will not rest in its oars in creating awareness on this issue”, Yishawu added.
The lawmaker therefore called on transporters to also ensure the practice of social distancing.
He saluted the governor of the State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and all health workers.
