Religious leaders in the country and the world over have been charged to feed their flocks, rather than fleecing them.

The founder and shepherd of Shiloh Word Chapel, Prophet Samuel Ikechukwu, gave the charge on Monday while distributing assorted food items to hundreds of indigent residents of Abuja, to cushion the harsh effect of the compulsory sit-at-home order put in place to check the spread of coronavirus disease.

Food items donated by Prophet Ikechukwu in partnership with Nigeria Samaritan Foundation included garri, noodles and others.
Ikechukwu reminded God’s ministers and believers that this is not the time for too much preaching, but the time to demonstrate their love for their neighbours.

He noted that Christian leaders should not wait for government alone to support the less-privileged ones in the society.

“If we must love God, we need to show it by our action. That is what our Lord Jesus Christ meant when he asked Simon Peter, ‘Do you love me?’

“We must not wait for the government alone to care for the less-privileged ones in our society, especially members of our flock.
All the wealth we are keeping for tomorrow is vanity.

“Love has a language and the language of giving. Join the chariot of love, giving reshapes our destiny,” the Cleric admonished.

The Abuja-based Cleric assured Nigerians that with the help of the almighty God, they shall all see the end of coronavirus.
