An indigenous social club, Yoruba Tennis Club, on Thursday handed over medical equipment to the Lagos State Government to help in the fight against Coronavirus.

The Chairman of the club, Architect Olawunmi Agbaje, while handling over the equipment, expressed concern for the wellbeing of residents of the State, especially during this season, stressing that this is the best time to show love and care to the people.
Agbaje commended the Lagos State Government for proactively combating the spread of the virus.
“We thank God for the proactive nature of the Lagos State Governor and its entire team for setting the ball rolling even when the virus had not entered the country, hence the reason for the successes recorded in fighting the pandemic”, he said.
He maintained that the club was also motivated to support the government in fighting the pandemic, hence the decision by the elders, management and the entire members of the club to support the government with medical equipments of 1,600 pieces of face masks and 40,000 pieces of hand gloves, which they are sure would be useful for  the residents of the state and as well assist in curtailing the spread of the pandemic.
“As Lagosians, we discovered that the State government needs support and we really appreciate what they are doing to combat the virus, hence our desire to also lend a helping hand by donating the equipment to the Lagos State government. We are really in support and will continue to support”, Agbaje said.
He urged all members of the public to also cooperate and support the government against the pandemic.
Receiving the equipment on behalf of the state government, Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederick Oladeinde, expressed appreciation to the President and the entire club members, assuring that the state would use the equipment for the purpose meant for, while also reiterating that the pandemic is real and advised all to continue to support the government in fighting it to an end.
