Elegushi mourns MC Oluomo’s mother
Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Lagos State Council, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (aka MC Oluomo) has lost his mother, Alhaja Zinat Abebi Omotonwo.
Akinsanya told The Nation that she passed away around 7am. She was 87. The Janazah (interment) was held at the Akinsanya’s Lagos home near Ejigbo NNPC in accordance with the Islamic rites.
The late Alhaja Zinat was said to have observed the Solatul Subh (morning) and prayed as usual for all her children and their friends.
The Nation learnt the late Alhaja Zinat, popularly known as Mama Agege, was relaxing on the chair after the usual Morning Prayer. She complained of tiredness and requested for a bowl to pour. The bowl was provided and she passed away shortly after.
The Nation learnt that the burial was done in line with social distancing directives of the state government.
Meanwhile, the Elegushi of Ikate Kingdom, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi has condoled with Alhaji Akinsanya over the death of his mother.
Oba Elegushi urged him to take solace in the good life mama lived, reminding him that she was religious and humane, devoting her time and resources to the causes of Allah and humanity.
The monarch prayed for the repose of the dead and strength for Alhaji Akinsanya and his family to bear the irreplaceable loss.
NURTW Lagos State Council Treasurer Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle (aka Sego) described the deceased as a true mother. Adekunle said the late Alhaja Omotonwo was a mother of all union members.
“She always prays for us and admonished us to be upright. When we were struggling, Alhaja was always there for everybody. He took care of her children and their friends. We will miss her worthy admonition,” he said. (The Nation)
