It was gathered that Emmanuel, of the private (Pte) military rank, on Tuesday took a substance suspected to be cocaine, and shortly after got into a fight with the victim over a girl at the mammy market of the 3 division, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment.

Punch that the Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Kayode Ogunsanya, of the 3 division, who said the military police were investigating the case, added that the fight was said to have escalated and Emmanuel reportedly brought out a knife and stabbed the victim.

“The story is true; the military police are investigating the case”, Ogunsanya said.

A source said, “The victim was also a gunner of the 303 Artillery. After he was, stabbed, he was immediately rushed to the Medical Reception Station where a first aid treatment was administered on him before he was referred to a hospital for further medical attention. He was said to have died at the hospital.

This is coming after it was reported few months ago that a young Nigerian soldier identified as L/Cpl Mohammed Adamu (Dan Fulani), was reportedly been shot and killed by some of his colleagues on duty in one of the numerous brothels in Maiduguri, according to a friend, Jack Vince.

Some reports in the media alleged that Adamu died during a battle with Boko Haram members, however, Vince took to social media to blow the whistle over his alleged death.
He wrote: “This soldier, L/Cpl Mohammed Adamu (Dan Fulani), grew up in my neighbourhood. A pretty young and vibrant lad. His parents and siblings still live in the Community. His mother fondly called him Baba Abba. Few days ago, news of his death reached us. The sad event came as a rude shock. The mood of everyone who knew him has been that of gloom ever since. The eldest of several young children and proverbial backbone of his parents.
Grapevine has it that he was, allegedly, shot and killed by some of his colleagues on duty in one of the numerous brothels in Maiduguri. That’s the much we heard. We hope concerned stakeholders are doing the needful to get to the bottom of the incident which is still very much shrouded in mystery.
May God grant his grieving family fortitude to bear the great loss and may his soul rest in peace. Amin.”
