President Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday, conducted a National Security Council (NSC) meeting at the State House in Abuja.
The meeting, which was held in the Executive Council chambers, was conducted outside media view.
The Personal Assistant to the President on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, who announced the commencement of the meeting, in a tweet said the issues to be discussed would centre around the security challenges in Kaduna, Nassarawa, Katsina and other places.
The meeting was attended by the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr Boss Mustapha.
Key cabinet members present were the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama, the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Mr Abubakar Malami and the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ogbeni Ra’uf Aregbesola.
Other attendees of the meeting were the service chiefs and heads of security agencies the Nation Security Adviser, NSA Major General Babagana Monguno, the Director General National Intelligence Agency, NIA, and the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu as well as the Director, Department of State Services, DSS.
