Abdullahi Enilolobo emerges new chairman of APC ‘Mandate Group’ in Lagos
The leaders of the Mandate group, the biggest and most potent group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State have taken steps to reorganise and restructure the group ahead the coming challenges as the 2023 elections loom, The Gazelle News is reporting.
This newspaper learnt that the leaders want to inject young and energetic members into the leadership structure of the group, recognising the fact there are more challenges ahead. Thus, a strategic meeting of the group was held on Tuesday, 26th May, 2020 at the Ikeja GRA residence of the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
Present at the meeting were: the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District in the Senate, Senator Sikiru Adebayo Osinowo; his counterpart from the Lagos West Senatorial District, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola; Chief of Staff to Governor Sanwo-Olu, Mr Tayo Ayinde; and Cardinal James Odunmbaku among others.
It was unanimously decided that the mantle of leadership of the group in the state should rest with Alhaji Abdullahi Enilolobo. That was how the state Organising Secretary of the APC, Alhaji Abdullahi Enilolobo became the new Chairman of the Mandate group in the state.
It was also decided at the meeting that Ogbeni Aregbesola remains the Grand Patron of the group while Cardinal Odunmbaku is the Apex Leader.
