Bandits have continued to hold onto three abducted family members despite receiving N2 million ransom from their relatives in Janjala community in Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State.

City & Crime had reported that bandits on February 5, 2023, invaded the couple’s residence in Janjala and whisked away Mr Mustapha, his wife, Mrs Shamsiya, and their 16-year-old daughter, Mahapuza.

A relative of the victims, Garba Dayayabu, who spoke with our reporter through telephone on Monday, said the ransom money was taken to the bandits’ leader in the forest around Kachia Dam on Friday.

He said after collecting the N2m the bandits’ leader said they should bring a brand new motorcycle before the victims would be set free.

The Madaki of Janjala, Samaila Babangida, who confirmed the development, said, “I was told that the bandits are in addition to the N2m taken to them demanding a new motorcycle before they will free the victims.”

There was no response from the spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command on the development at the time of filing this report. (Daily Trust)
