Six mine resistance vehicles that seem to have been transported into Nigeria without due process have been intercepted by Nigerian soldiers manning a checkpoint in Adamawa state.

Premium Times reports that vehicles were seized by soldiers attached to the Nigerian Army 23 armoured brigade in Yola.

Military sources told Premium Times that the ownership of the vehicles which were shipped into the country could not be verified by the army.

The equipment have been handed over to the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) pending investigation into the discovery.

It is not immediately clear whether suspects have been arrested over the seizure of the vehicles.
