APC chair: Ganduje congratulates Yilwatda, says appointment is strategic

The immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has congratulated Professor Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe on his emergence as the new helmsman of the ruling party, describing his appointment as timely and strategic.

In a statement personally signed by him on Thursday, Ganduje said Yilwatda’s elevation comes at a defining moment for the APC and expressed deep confidence in his ability to steer the party in the right direction.

“The emergence of Prof. Yilwatda is strategic. It comes at a critical period in the life of the party. I have profound confidence in his capacity, intellect, maturity, and administrative competence to move the party forward,” Ganduje stated.

The former Kano State governor also commended the APC’s National Executive Committee and other party organs for conducting a transparent and consensus-driven selection process, which he said reflected internal democracy and unity.

Ganduje urged his successor to build on the foundations laid during his tenure, just as he acknowledged the achievements of his own predecessor.

He also paid glowing tribute to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for what he described as their statesmanlike role in ensuring a smooth leadership transition.

“Our President and Vice President have once again shown maturity and far-sightedness in the affairs of our great party. Their commitment to ensuring cohesion and stability within the APC is commendable, and I urge all stakeholders to rally around the new leadership to deliver on the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” he added.

Calling for unity within the party ranks, Ganduje appealed to the APC National Working Committee, NEC, state chapters, youth and women wings, and all other stakeholders to give Prof. Yilwatda full cooperation and unwavering support.

“As I bow out with a sense of fulfilment, I wish to assure Prof. Yilwatda of my unflinching support, counsel, and brotherly solidarity,” he said. “I urge all our leaders, governors, lawmakers, and faithful party members across the federation to queue behind him and give him the necessary backing to consolidate on our party’s vision of building a united, progressive, and inclusive political platform for all Nigerians.”

Ganduje concluded the statement by pledging his continued loyalty to the APC and reaffirming his willingness to offer political guidance when needed. He also prayed for divine strength and wisdom for the new chairman as he assumes leadership at a time filled with both opportunity and challenge.
