The Caretaker Committee Chairman, All Progressives Grand Alliance, Imo State, John Iwuala, says the party has expelled Senator Ifeanyi Araraume.

Iwuala said Araraume, who represented Imo North between 1999 and 2007, and was the APGA governorship candidate during the 2019 election in Imo, was guilty of alleged anti-party activities.

Araraume had publicly promised to work with Governor Hope Uzodinma, who is a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress.

Araraume had endorsed the APC candidate of the Okigwe North House of Representatives rerun against the APGA candidate.

He said the party in the state and in the South East zone had expelled the senator.

“We expelled him in a letter to the national leadership on January 11.We are waiting for the national leadership to ratify the expulsion,” Iwuala said.

But Araraume, in his reaction, said the caretaker committee had no legal right to speak for Imo APGA.

He spoke on Saturday after casting his vote, during the Okigwe North rerun.

Araraume said, “John Iwuala is unknown to me. He is unknown to APGA and unknown to law. A valid state congress was conducted in Imo and APGA has a duly elected chairman in the state.’’ (Punch)
