Army deploys GOCs
The Army has approved postings and redeployment of senior officers across units and formations.
The Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sagir Musa, said the shakeup was a routine exercise to reinvigorate the system for professional efficiency.
A statement made available to journalists and signed by the Army spokesman, the posting was approved by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Turkur Buratai.
According to the statement, “the Nigerian Army has released the postings and appointments of its officers.
The posting, which was approved by the Chief of Army Staff Lt.-Gen. T. Y. Buratai, is a routine exercise to reinvigorate the system for greater professional efficiency”.
The statement added: “The highlight includes the appointment of Maj.-Gen. F. O. Agugo, the erstwhile Chief of Army Transformation and Innovation as the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 6 Division, Port Harcourt (Rivers State), Maj.-Gen. J. Sarham; former GOC, 6 Division, is now the Commandant, Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, while Maj.-Gen. C. O. Ude, has been redeployed from headquarters of Multinational Joint Task Force, Ndjamena, Chad Republic, to Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja, as Director, Nigerian Army Consult.
“Others include Maj.-Gen. I. M. Yusuf from Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja, to headquarters of Multinational Joint Task Force in Ndjamena, Chad, as Commander, while Maj.-Gen. E. N. Njoku has been redeployed from Defence Headquarters (DHQ) to Army Headquarters of the Department of Transformation and Innovation as the Chief of Transformation and Innovation (Army).
