Arsenal FC, Chief Executive, Ivan Gazidis, has resigned from his position and is set to join Italian club AC Milan.
Arsenal confirmed the departure of Gazidis through a farewell speech published on the club’s website.
In the speech, Gazidis stated that the decision to leave is the hardest he has taken in his life.
He said, “Although it is very hard to do – the hardest decision of my life – I believe that, after 10 years, it is the right time for me to step aside to allow new leadership, energy and ideas to take the club forward into this exciting new era.”
Gazidis, who will be taking a similar position in AC Milan expressed that he hopes to return his new club to its rightful place in world football.
The Emirate club announced that Raul Sanllehi, currently Head of Football Relations at the Emirates Stadium, will become Head of Football while Chief Commercial Officer Vinai Venkatesham will take over the role of Managing Director when Gazidis heads to Milan.
