Arsenal are willing to ‘listen to offers’ for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as the north London side look to raise funds before the transfer window’s closure.

Aubameyang signed a lucrative three-year contract with Arsenal in September 2020, but endured a disappointing campaign last term with the club captain struggling to replicate his previous performances.

The Telegraph are now reporting that the Gunners will ‘not stand in their captain’s way’ should the club receive a suitable offer, though the forward’s wages of around £250,000-a-week could prove problematic to a potential move.

Barcelona have been credited with an interest in the 32-year-old, though the Spanish side’s crippling financial situation appears to make a deal unrealistic at present.

Aubameyang missed the club’s opening fixture of the new Premier League season against Brentford after contracting coronavirus, before coming on as a substitute during Sunday’s defeat to Chelsea.

The Gunners have spent more than £130m on transfers so far this summer, with the club unlikely to invest in further additions without sales.

Arsenal are open to the exits of a number of first-team players before the August 31 deadline, with Sead Kolasinac, Hector Bellerin, Lucas Torreira, Eddie Nketiah and Ainsley Maitland-Niles all available for transfer.

Crystal Palace have been linked with a move for Nketiah, though have so far failed to meet Arsenal’s £20m asking price for the forward.
