Political associates of the late former Governor of Oyo state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, on Wednesday, raised millions of naira to maintain the Ishaq Abiola Ajimobi Central Mosque, Oke-Ado, Ibadan.

They commended the late governor for achievements during his tenure as governor in the state. At the lecture were; All Progressives Congress (APC)  candidate in the 2019 governorship election in the state, Chief Bayo Adelabu, Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District, Fatai Buhari, APC caretaker chairman in Oyo State, Chief Akin Oke, Oyo APC secretary, Alhaji Mojeed Olaoya, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, and Barrister Lateef Fagbemi.

A popular Islamic scholar, Sheikh Muhyideen Ajani Bello, who anchored the programme, said Ajimobi left a good legacy behind for the state.

Held at Ishaq Abiola Ajimobi Central Mosque, Oke-Ado, Ibadan, Bello noted that nothing has changed for good in the state after Ajimobi left office as the governor of the state. He said, “Insecurity has returned to the state. People can no longer move freely.

We have gone back to the era of hooliganism where people in the state can no longer sleep with their two eyes again.”

Earlier in his opening remarks, the chairman of the event, Alhaji, Mutiu Oladejo said that Muslims in the state missed the positive impact of the late Ajimobi just as he said the legacy left behind by the late governor cannot be over emphasised.

He however called on Muslims across the state to come together and support themselves, and stop looking for the mistakes of others.
