AVOID RISKY ADVENTURES, DG WARNS CORPS MEMBERS

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Corps Members have been warned against indulging in acts that can endanger their lives or put them in harm’s way during their service year.

The Director General of National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General YD Ahmed gave this warning while addressing Corps Members deployed to Yobe State at the Orientation Camp in Dazingau, Nagere Local Government Area of the State likewise their colleagues at Gombe State Orientation Camp in Amada.

General Ahmed who urged the Corps Members to avoid every form of misconduct appealed to them to be security conscious at all times.

“Don’t endanger your lives by travelling at night. Board vehicles from approved motorparks only and once it’s getting too
late, break your journey and pass the night in Corps Lodges, military barracks and other safe places”, the DG said.

General Ahmed implored the Corps Members to appreciate the cultural values of their host communities and strive to promote national unity and integration as good ambassadors of the Scheme.

The NYSC Yobe State Coordinator, Mrs Hafsat Yerima while briefing General Ahmed described the Corps Members as disciplined and hardworking, who are ready for the service year.

As at the time of General Ahmed’s visit, a total of 1,143 Corps Members comprising 671 males and 472 females have been registered in Yobe camp.

Similarly, the NYSC Gombe State Coordinator, Mr Dawut Jidda informed the Director General that all the 1,184 Corps Members comprising 676 males and 508 females have acclimatized to the regimented camp life.

He said the Corps Members and Camp Officials are all in high spirits and working as team players towards achieving a successful Orientation Exercise.
