Barcelona don’t care about people who made history at the club – Dani Alves
Dani Alves, admitted in an interview with ‘The Guardian’ that he did not like the way Barcelona handled his farewell. Nor does he believe that the treatment of other legends, leaving him aside, has been appropriate. Even so, he feels grateful to Joan Laporta and Xavi Hernandez.
It may sound ambiguous, but Dani Alves is clear about two things after his return to Barcelona. The first is that he has enjoyed it very much and that he is grateful to Joan Laporta, the president, and Xavi Hernandez, the coach, for making it possible. The second is that the way his farewell was handled, which he found understandable, did not make him feel very happy.
“I left happy to be back in Barcelona. I dreamt for five years of living that second spell. The only thing I didn’t like was how my farewell was handled. From the moment I arrived, I made it very clear that I was no longer a 20-year-old guy and that I wanted things to be done face to face, without hiding things. But this club have made that mistake in recent years. Barcelona don’t care about the people who made history at the club,” he said in an interview with ‘The Guardian’.
“As a ‘Cule’, I would like Barcelona to do things differently. I’m not talking about me. I am eternally grateful to Xavi and the president for bringing me back. I found a club full of young people with incredible ideas on the pitch,” he added, before referring to the fact that the concept of the club is not as firmly established as it was during his first spell at the club.

“The club needs to improve the work off the pitch. The mentality is totally the opposite of what we built a few years ago. Everything that happens on the pitch is a reflection of what happens off the pitch. My future? I like challenges and I adapt to any situation. Interesting things have emerged, I’m studying them,” he added.
