A Sharia Court in Ningi, the headquarters of the Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State, has sentenced a middle-aged man, Abdullahi Sani of Unguwar Makara Huta, to death by stoning for alleged homosexuality.
The Sharia Judge, Abdullahi Aliyu Doya delivered the judgement during a court session on May 10, 2024, and Sani was found guilty of the offense committed.
The Sharia Judge indicated that the Court began hearing the matter on 02/05/2024 and later concluded after hearing numerous arguments.
According to him, based on witness testimony and the defendant’s admission of guilt, Abdullahi Sani was found guilty and sentenced to death by stoning in line with sections 131, 132, and 133 of the Bauchi State Administration of Criminal Justice, 2001.
