A precedent is being set in the House of Representatives as the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila has called for the division of the House in order to determine a motion calling for the release of the Shiekh Ibrahim El-Zakzaki.

The House was debating a motion on whether to proscribe the group, also known as Shi’ites or not when an amendment by Linda Ikpeazu from Anambra called on the Kaduna State government to release Zakzaki in line with orders of the Court.
The Speaker, not certain where the pendulum swung in the voice votes conducted twice, therefore, called for a division of the House.
