Buhari’s Former Aide Opens Up On Meeting With Aregbesola

Lauretta Onochie, former Special Assistant to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Media, has disclosed that she held a closed-door meeting with Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Aregbesola, who served as Minister of Interior in Buhari’s cabinet from 2019 to 2023, is one of those plotting to unseat President Bola Tinubu.

Taking to Facebook, on Friday, July 25, 2025, Onochie said the meeting took place one day ago.

According to the former presidential aide, the private discussion was focused on national development and strategies to steer the country back on the path of progress.

“Yesterday, Big Brother and Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ogbeni RAUF AREGBESOLA, and yours truly had a meeting. It was centered around recovering our nation from her captives,” she wrote.

“God bless Nigeria.”

Towards the end of his administration, Buhari had appointed Onochie as the Board Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), an appointment that triggered controversy.
