Carlo Ancelotti Dumps Real Madrid, Confirmed as New Brazil Manager
Top football manager, Carlo Ancelotti, will leave his role at Real Madrid football club to become the head coach of Brazil’s national team for the Copa America in the USA next summer.
This was confirmed by the president of the Brazilian Football Confederation, Ednaldo Rodrigues.
Rodrigues revealed this while appointing Fluminense boss Fernando Diniz as the team’s interim coach for the next 12 months.
“His (Diniz) game plan is almost similar to that of the coach that will take over at Copa America, Ancelotti. We don’t call him an interim coach of the national team. He will come and make the transition in Brazil for Ancelotti,” he said.
Ancelotti has coached some members of the Brazil squad while at Real Madrid including Rodrygo Goes, Vinicius Junior and Eder Militao.
The Italian has one more season on his contract with Madrid, while the Copa America starts on June 20 in the States.
