Change-A-Life Foundation Celebrates Children’s Day in Grand Style

…marks decade of the celebration

Lagos, Nigeria. Monday, May 27, 2019. It was an exciting time for kids all over Lagos as Change-A-Life Foundation, a non-profit social organization passionately driven by the need to enable and facilitate a better life for every Nigerian child, marked the 10th anniversary edition of its Children’s Day celebration.

The organization which was founded by Ms. Funmi Iyanda – an award-winning producer, talk show host, journalist and activist, commemorated its 10th edition of the Children’s Day Celebration Fun fare tagged – “A Decade of Celebrating Exceptional Children” by treating its beneficiaries and several other children from various schools to a fun-filled time at the Balmoral Hall & Marquee, Oregun, Lagos.

Speaking during the event, the Founder, Ms. Funmi Iyanda stated that the 10th anniversary of its annual children’s day event is in line with the organization’s mandate to promote, protect and preserve the rights and welfare of children in Nigeria.

“This year marks a decade of celebrating these exceptional children of our great nation. We are proud to have done this consistently for ten years in recognition of the fact that these children are the future of this nation. They are our leaders to come and we are passionate about their development into responsible members of the society,” Iyanda said.

celebration held today at the Balmoral Hall & Marquee, Oregun, Lagos.

Also speaking at the event, the Chief Operating Officer, Change-A-Life Foundation, Ms. Sekinat Ayeyemi explained that the annual children’s day celebration is a part of the organization’s platform of accomplishing its social development activities.

While explaining that the foundation has directly impacted over 3,000 families across the country and nearly 10,000 families indirectly since inception, Ayeyemi disclosed that the foundation has provided scholarships for children as well as skills acquisition and economic empowerment programme to women and youths.

She expressed the organization’s deep appreciation to all the sponsors of the event for their support towards the successful execution of the children’s day celebration.

“We really appreciate all the brands that have demonstrated their love for children by supporting this event; we say a big thank you to Sifax Group, Integrated Indigo Limited, Kaptain Foods, Maltina, Seven-Up Bottling Company, Rite Foods Limited, Dufil Prima Foods makers of Indomie, SoYummy, IvoryPops, Pepsodent, Honywell Noodles, Shoprite, Grand Cereals Limited member of UAC Foods Limited, NASCO Group, NutsAboutCakes, Noah’s Ark Communications, Polo Avenue Lagos, Pineapple TV and Mojec International,” Ayeyemi said.

She called on other corporate organizations and well-meaning individuals to support the foundation in its mission of uplifting the Nigerian child and enhancing social development across the country.

Expressing his profound appreciation to the Foundation for putting together the fun-filled Children’s day event, School Representative, Mr. Boyinde Oloro of Majolate Primary School, commended the foundation for its consistency over the years in its contribution to the enhancement of child welfare and society development as demonstrated through the commemoration of Children’s day.

“We appreciate the consistent show of affection and love towards our children who would forever remember this foundation for the wonderful experience delivered to them every children’s day commemoration,” Oloro said.
Some of the schools in attendance include Majolate Primary School, Elyon International School, Pembroke House, Borngrate Private Schools, Ospa International Schools, the Crown School, and Julius Grace Shalom Schools among others.

The high point of the event came when children, parents and guardians were thrilled with several exciting activities including a live dance performance Spelling Bee Competition, Quiz competition, choreography, motivational talks, comedy & jokes, photography session and so on.
