The President of The Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches (GPCC), Reverend Prof. Frimpong Manso has disclosed the willingness of Ghanaian Churches to organize up to 10 church services a day in order to adequately observe social distancing protocols.

Prof Frimpong Manso, who also doubles as the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana revealed this during an interview with Power Fm’s News anchor Daakyehene Ofosu Agyeman on whether the church is ready for service if President Akufo-Addo lifts the restrictions.

There has been a ban on Church services and other social gatherings since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in the country. Today, which happens to be the expiration of the last extension of the said ban, there is a lot of anxiety as to whether the president will lift the ban or extend it.

Prof Frimpong Manso referring to the Bible quoted Hebrews 10:25
“not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” He, therefore, appealed to the government to formulate safety guidelines for churches to pave way for them to resume worship activities to resume.

Prof. Frimpong Manso further disclosed that churches have proper structures and the capacity to roll out effective social distancing and safety measures unlike the market places and other business centres which have a challenge adhering to safety etiquettes.
