COVID-19: Lagos records another nine deaths, conducts 27,616 sample tests
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday announced another nine COVID-19 related deaths for Lagos State, increasing the state’s COVID-19 mortality to 81.
The NCDC made the disclosure in its COVID-19 Situation Report for June 10.
According to NCDC, 17 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours in seven states with Lagos having nine, Delta three, while Bauchi, Abuja, Gombe, Ondo and Rivers State recorded one death each.
The state also recorded 26 new recoveries, increasing the number of discharged COVID-19 patients in Lagos to 970.
According to NCDC, 85,375 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the country, Lagos records the highest number of sample tests with 27,616 COVID-19 tests conducted since inception of the virus.
NCDC data show that after Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Edo States conducted 11,385, 5,331 and 4,760 COVID-19 sample tests, respectively.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Lagos remains the epicentre of Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases with 6,266 cases of the total 13,873 cases. (NAN)
