Residents along BUK road in Gwale Local Government area of Kano State have secured a court order from a Kano State High Court restraining the state government from going ahead with the planned demolition of their houses which were already marked.

The court presided over by Justice Hafsat Sani restrained the Kano State Bureau for Land Management and 3 others from demolishing and encroaching structures marked for demolition.

The plaintiff Bashir Abdullahi and 19 others through their counsel Ibrahim Adamu Esq, had filed an exparte motion of interim injunction dated July 4.

Justice Hafsat Sani, granted an order of interim injunction restraining the respondents by themselves, agents, privis, work men or servants or anybody acting or claiming to act for them.

“On their behalf from taking any further steps by way of encroaching, invading or demolition of their buildings or revoking the rights of occupancy or any other thing that may temper with the position of the plots along BUK road in Gwale Local Government pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice”

Justice Sani however, adjourned the matter until Oct. 26, for hearing on motion on notice.

The respondents joined in the suit include Governor of Kano State, Attorney General of Kano State, Kano State Bureau for Land Management and Kano Urban Planning and Development Agency, KNUPDA.
