A doctor who was dumped by her former Tinder date allegedly sent more than 9,000 messages as part of a harassment campaign, a court has heard.

Scorned Denise Jane Lee sent texts and emails to Matthew Holberton, his new girlfriend and their family members after becoming obsessed with him following a brief relationship in Sydney.

The pair reportedly had four dinner dates in 2015 and two sexual encounters before he broke off the relationship and moved to Melbourne.

Mr Holberton then began dating Georgia Dempster, but Lee allegedly sent “vile” messages to the pair, as well as Mrs Dempster’s mother Robin, and their colleagues.

She was initially due to face a five-day hearing but pleaded guilty to four of 10 charges following negotiations between her lawyer and the prosecution.

The parties will now prepare an agreed statement of the facts.

Magistrate Michael Barko refused to dismiss the charges on mental health grounds and adjourned the case for a directions hearing on Tuesday.
