Nigeria international, Sadiq Umar’s time with Almeria may be over after Bundesliga side, Borrusia Dortmund submitted an offer of €25m for the striker, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

According to Spanish publication, FútbolFantasy, Dortmund are in the market for a striker and have identified the Super Eagles striker as the perfect player to help them fight for titles next season.

Sadiq has been in fine form for Almeria for consecutive seasons and has scored 38 goals in 74 La Liga 2 appearances, also registering 19 assists in the process.

His performance has not gone unnoticed, with LaLiga’s Villarreal, Real Sociedad and Valencia all linked with the former AS Roma forward during the summer transfer window.

Surprisingly, Dortmund have joined in the race for the Nigerian, with the Spanish publication fuelling the speculation that the player had already left his house at El Toyo and didn’t renew his rent, and it’s believed to be in preparation for a move to Germany.

“Umar Sadiq is not guaranteed his continuity at UD Almería next season after the club received an offer of €25m for the 25-year-old Nigerian striker on Tuesday,” the website wrote.

“His representative agency, the CAA Base, has also received a contract proposal to convince the footballer, according to what FútbolFantasy has learned, surpassing the record that he now receives in the Rojiblanca entity.

“In addition, the Almería press also reveals today that, this morning (Wednesday), the striker has left his house in El Toyo, to which he moved from his previous residence on Camino del Bobar (Vega de Acá) less than a year ago. Now, not knowing yet if he will continue to defend the UDA shield, he has not renewed his rental contract to continue staying in this chalet. His home will depend on what happens in the market and the latest events put the Almeria fans on alert.”

Meanwhile, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke also confirmed to Sportschau.de that the club will sign a striker soon.

“So I think we’ll do something again in terms of personnel. A really good solution is also difficult because the range on the market is not exactly lavish.

“Ideally, something should happen in the next eight to 10 days.”  (Punch)
