The Black Entertainment Television (BET), the organizers of the annual BET Awards have announced the nominations for the 2020 BET Awards.

Canadian rapper, Drake leads the pack with six nominations including nods for Best Male Hip Hop Artist, Video of the Year, and two nods for both Best Collaboration and Viewer’s Choice for his features with Chris Brown and Future.

Megan Thee Stallion and Roddy Ricch garnered the second most nominations with five each. The “Hot Girl Summer” MC is up for Best Female Hip Hop Artist, Best Collaboration, Video of the Year, Album of the Year and Viewer’s Choice Award. Ricch is nominated for Best Male Hip Hop Artist, Video of the Year, Best New Artist, Album of the Year and Viewer’s Choice Award.

Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Brown, DaBaby and Lizzo have collected four nominations each.

This year’s show will be hosted by comedian and actress Amanda Seales. The Lifetime Achievement and Humanitarian honorees will be announced at a later date as well as the show’s performers.

Multiple award-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy and MAVIN Rema were nominated in the Best International Act and Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act categories respectively.

Other Africans in the Best International Act category include South African singer, Sho Madjozi and Innos’B from Democratic Republic of Congo. In the Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act category, Zimbabwean act, Sha Sha was nominated.

The 2020 BET Awards will mark ceremony’s 20th anniversary and BET’s 40th anniversary. A simulcast will commence live from (8 p.m. ET) across Viacom/CBS networks on June 28, 2020.
