Drop 2027 presidential ambitions, it’s Tinubu’s turn – Ganduje tells Northern politicians
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has urged northern politicians nursing a presidential ambition for 2027 to abandon the idea, affirming that President Bola Tinubu will complete two terms in office.
Ganduje made this declaration on Tuesday while receiving a delegation from the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Media Centre and the Tinubu Northern Youth Forum at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.
According to him, it would be unfair to deny Tinubu re-election in 2027, given that a northern leader had previously served two full terms.
“When a leader from the North was in office for eight years, we insisted that the next president should come from the South. We worked hard with the cooperation of Nigerians, and today, our President is from the South. Insha Allah, he will go for his second term in 2027, and after that, it will be the North’s turn again,” Ganduje stated.
The former Kano State governor expressed confidence in Tinubu’s policies, emphasising that economic reforms were already yielding positive results.
“Our President is a reformer and a visionary leader. His policies are necessary for Nigeria’s social and economic development. Many things went wrong over a long period, and fixing them requires precision. However, we are already seeing results, particularly in the economy,” he said.
Ganduje also highlighted the APC Progressive Institute, which aims to educate party members on the party’s constitution, manifesto, and programmes while offering policy recommendations to the government.
Earlier, the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Olusegun Dada, assured that the PBAT Media Centre would work to correct misinformation about the administration while amplifying its achievements ahead of the 2027 elections.
“We will ensure that Nigerians receive accurate information about the President’s policies and progress,” he said.
Ganduje reinforced his commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, promising that the party’s leadership would uphold its zoning formula and ensure stability within the APC.
