The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State has promised to give President Muhammadu Buhari 80 percent of the state’s 3.2 million votes during Saturday’s presidential election.
Similarly, arrangements have commenced in earnest to ensure a hitch-free visit to the state on Thursday by Buhari for the presidential campaign rally to be held at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina.
Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa, the chairman Presidential Campaign Council for the party, who stated this during a press conference held in Katsina at the weekend, recalled that during the 2015polls, the state gave President Buhari more than 1.5 million votes.
He maintained that the APC hopes to put up an addition by giving the president 2.8 million votes out of the expected 3.2 million permanent voter’s cards (PVCs) collected by the electorate, saying that the party was working with stakeholders at the local government council areas to achieve its target.
“As the president’s home state, efforts would be made to compete or surpass others in the region like Kano, Sokoto, Zamfara, Jigawa, amongst other states, in terms of number of votes for President Buhari this coming Saturday”.
“So also this Thursday’s Presidential campaign will be the mother of all rallies, as the state plans to hold a grand campaign exercise to beat every other in the President’s home state”, he stated.
He, however, enjoined party supporters to come out en-masse during the presidential campaign rally, as well as ensure that they cast their votes for the Buhari to enable him take us to the next level.
“The APC in Katsina is confident of winning the elections from the president to the governorship, National and state Assembly,” he added.
