Dr. Olapade Agoro, former Presidential candidate of National Action Council (NAC), has said Nigerians must caution both President Muhammadu Buhari and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Presidential candidate, Abubakar Atiku not to set the country on fire.

Agoro, who spoke with newsmen at his Apata, Ibadan residence on the presidential poll, noted events in the last two weeks have shown clearly that both Buhari and Atiku are too desperate to win the poll.

He maintained that the peace pact the General Abdulsalam Abubakar-led National Peace Committee made the duo to sign is not enough to prevent post-election violence, but the readiness of Nigerians not to allow themselves to be used for violence.

Agoro said, “care must be taken so that history of political past when innocent Nigerians were killed after election results were announced does not repeat itsel.”

The former NAC Presidential candidate added that: “if we are not careful, it may be difficult for us to pick a winner in Saturday’s Presidential election, irrespective of the threat of the western world.”

Agoro noted that interestingly, both Buhari and Atiku are of the same faith and tribe and until last year were both in the same ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) promoting the same political core values.

He said: “This 2019 Presidential election unexpectedly is being fought by two Fulani brothers, who are also of the same faith, Islam.”
