According to emerging details, the Salary of civil servants in Lagos state for the month of October, 2020 will not be paid as at when due.

A statement available to societynow.ng announcing this development reads..

The October Salary of civil servants, especially active, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) as well as pension of pensioners will be delayed for some days due to fallout of the #EndSARS protest in the State.

A statement by the Head of Service, Mr Hakeem Muri-Okunola urged civil servants to bear with government, assuring that all efforts would be made to ensure that the payment is made in due course.

According to him, “Dear all, due to the unfortunate outcome of the #endsars protest and the subsequent 24hrs curfew imposed on citizens of the State by Mr. Governor, I will like to inform you that processing of October, 2020 salaries for (Active, SUBEB, LGA/LCDA, Pension) etc. was impeded. In view of the foregoing, please be informed that payment of salaries will be delayed by a few days.

“Kindly bear with us as all efforts are being made to ensure that payment is made in due course.”
