The daughter of former Abuja Customary Court of Appeal president, Justice Moses Bello has asked a Federal Capital Territory High Court in Bwari to declare that she is entitled to more of her late father’s estate.

Ann Eniyamire Bello said her late father in his last testamentary statement had approved 11.11 per cent of his estate among his wife and eight children.

In the suit marked CV/667/2024, Eniyamire’s lawyer, Barrister Yahuza Mahraz contended thatthe executor of  her father’s will, Reverend Father Ezekiel John Awolumate, shortchanged her in the sharing formular of 4.16 per cent.

She therefore asked the court to suspend Rev Awolumate and the Christ the King Catholic Church, Okene Parish in Kogi State, from executioners of the estate.

The claimant, who is demanding among others the sum of N500m in damages, also prayed the court for “A declaration that the claimant is entitled to a share of 1/9 or 11.11 per cent of all her late father’s assets of shares, stocks, cash and property.

“An order of this honourable court directing the defendants (Rev Awolumate and Christ the King) to account, tender and hand all necessary documents with regards to administration, managing and distribution of the estates of the claimant’s late father to any appointed administrator general.”

At the hearing on Wednesday, the defendant’s counsel, Adewale Adegboyega Esq told the court that he has filed a preliminary objection challenging the competence of the suit.

After listening to the parties, Justice M.A Madugu put June 4 for definite hearing of the suit.(daily trust)
