“Fayose an APC spy in PDP” – Ekiti party chairman reveals
Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has been accused of working against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with former state PDP chairman, Barrister Gboyega Oguntuase, labelling him a “spy” for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Addressing journalists in Ado Ekiti, Oguntuase shed light on why Fayose has not been expelled from the party despite his alleged anti-party activities, including his refusal to support the PDP’s 2023 presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and his endorsement of the APC’s Bola Tinubu.
Fayose’s recent public support for the re-election of Ekiti State Governor Abayomi Oyebanji in 2026 has also raised concerns within the PDP.
Oguntuase stated that the party is more focused on winning elections without Fayose rather than rushing to suspend or expel him.
“Fayose has made it clear that he is not loyal to the PDP. We are more concerned about rebuilding our party, and we don’t have time to dignify him,” Oguntuase said.
He stated that Fayose’s support for the opposition is evident and that it would be unwise to include him in the party’s strategic planning.
Oguntuase praised the newly appointed caretaker committee, led by Lanre Adeleke, for creating an opportunity to rebuild the PDP and prepare for future elections in the state.
The former chairman concluded, “Fayose has shown that he will work against the party, so we must focus on strengthening the PDP with loyal members.”
