A female school teacher, called Miss Sprinkles, has been arrested for allegedly romping with a student.
The Police in North Carolina, US, were called in by the 26-year-old’s school when the reported relationship emerged.
She is charged with engaging in sex acts with a student while employed by the Cherokee County Schools System.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office told the channel that they began an investigation when alerted to a possible illegal sexual relationship between an educator and student.
They received a report that 26-year-old Kayla Sprinkles had apparently been sexually involved with a student.
On Monday, investigators presented their findings to the grand jury.
The jury then made the decision to indict Sprinkles on five counts of sexual activity with a student.
Sprinkles’ relationship with the pupil is alleged to have lasted from around December 2016 to April 2017. She has been released on a $25,000 unsecured board and will appear in court on July 2.
The relationship allegedly took place while she was employed by the Cherokee County Schools System.
“Our youth and our students are one of the greatest resources that Cherokee County is blessed to have. It is incumbent upon all of us to ensure their safety and well being as they grow and mature.”
Sprinkles has become the latest teacher in the US to be accused of sexual activity with a student.
