FG cracks down on flight delays, vows to sanction errant airlines
The Federal Government, through the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), has warned that it will no longer tolerate unnecessary flight delays.
The government also vowed to sanction errant airlines and urged passengers to be more informed about their challenges while travelling via airport.
The Head of Consumer Protection at NCAA, Michael Achimugu, stated this on Saturday during a road walk in Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital.
“We’re now in the high travel season in aviation and as you know there’s been a lot of flight disruptions as well as a lot of complaints.
“Our duty at NCAA is to sensitize our passengers because most of the time when complaints come about these disruptions, it comes from a place of poor knowledge about their rights and responsibilities as air passengers.”
Achimugu, however, noted that both the passenger and the airline must be protected.
