FIFA slams indefinite ban on Moshood Abiola national stadium
FIFA have slammed an indefinite ban on Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja from hosting international matches.
The World Football Governing Body arrived took the decision following the pitch invasion during Nigeria and Ghana World Cup qualification match on Tuesday.
The fans invaded the pitch, and destroyed facilities after the referee signal the end of the second leg playoff encounter.
They were furious with Super Eagles performance and they took their frustration to the pitch.
The Super Eagles needed an outright win to qualify for a seventh World Cup appearance.
But after 90 minutes the game ended 1-1 which saw the Black Stars advance on the away goal after the first leg ended goalless in Kumasi on Friday.
After the final whistle, the fans started throwing items from the stands, destroying the substitute bench and other facilities they could lay their hands on.
