Former Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi has blasted Israel’s President, Benjamin Netanyahu.

Nancy who served as the speaker of the House of Representatives from 2007 to 2011 and 2019 to 2023, stated that Netanyahu’s presentation in the House Chamber “was by far the worst presentation of any foreign dignitary invited and honored with the privilege of addressing the Congress of the United States.”

In a post on her official X handle on Wednesday evening, she lamented that many families were expecting a ceasefire in the war in Gaza and hoped the President Netanyahu would concentrate his efforts on that.

She said, “Many of us who love Israel spent time today listening to Israeli citizens whose families have suffered in the wake of the October 7th Hamas terror attack and kidnappings.

“These families are asking for a ceasefire deal that will bring the hostages home – and we hope the Prime Minister would spend his time achieving that goal.”

In his speech Netanyahu called for “total victory” in the war, dashing hopes of a ceasefire and possible return of Israeli hostages.

He told the United States Congress that Israel’s fight is their fight and that they are protecting US by fighting in Gaza.

Protesters in the US had also trooped out, accusing lsrael of committing genocide in Gaza.

Israel has been at war with Hamas in Gaza since last October, after Hamas militants stormed Israel, killing about 1,200 people and kidnapping hundreds of others. (SaharaReporters)
