Frank Mba, current Police Force Public Relations Officer is stepping down from the position, ENigeria Newspaper reports.

Frank Mba is a Nigerian lawyer and police officer who presently serves as a Commissioner of Police and Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) in Abuja.

On December 30, 2020, at the Police Force Headquarters in Abuja, he was elevated from DCP to Commissioner (CP) by the Inspector General of the Police Force, Mr. Mohammed Adamu.

This newspaper learnt that his current re-deployment is a standard procedure carried out at the discretion of the Inspector General of Police when police officers are promoted.

Mba, who was on international course with other top officers of the Force, including Abdulrasheed Bawa, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, is expected to be re-deployed once he returns from the course, sources disclosed to ENigeria Newspaper.

“The Course is typically for senior officers, and once they complete it, they are automatically redeployed.” Mba on his part is long overdue since his promotion to the rank Commissioner,” our insider claimed.

ENigeria Newspaper however learned that Frank Mba strategically lobbied to be assigned to Lagos but his request was turned down by the Police Authority due to his history with the city.

ENigeria Newspaper gathered that the Enugu-born officer and educated lawyer, who was a former Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer before quitting the office, is scheduled to step down from his current position before the end of December after a meritorious service.
