Gernot Rohr awaits FIFA verdict on unfair dismissal by NFF
Former Super Eagles Coach Gernot Rohr is expecting a verdict from next week regarding his dismissal by the Nigeria Football Federation.
Rohr lodged a complaints with the World Football Governing Body over the circumstances of his sack by the Nigerian FA, despite meeting all the stipulations in his contract.
The Franco-German stated that he’s entitled to compensation over what he called ‘unfair and unlawful dismissal’.
He was sacked last December, with just weeks to the African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
Per Osasu Obayiuwana, Rohr said:
“I don’t want to speak about anything concerning my relationship with Nigeria Football Federation for now. I am expecting to get the result of my case against them next week, from FIFA.”
Before his dismissal, Rohr was Nigeria’s longest serving coach.
He was employed in 2016 and helped the country qualify for 2018 World Cup, and African Cup of Nations in 2019 and 2021.
