The Amalgamated Computer Stationery and Allied Trader Association of Nigeria (ACSATAN) on the Lagos Island, Lagos State, has backed Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s re-election bid.
The President of the association, Chris Onyekachi, who said the association had restructured and admitted new members to ensure unity of purpose, especially during the general elections, added that the governor had impressed them.
According to him, Ambode’s ability to unite the diverse ethnic groups in Lagos, as well as upholding religious tolerance among all Lagosians, had not gone unnoticed by the body.
The president said considering the diversity of members, the body had been able to forge the path of unity, peace and tolerance, adding that these were the attributes they also saw in Ambode.
Onyekachi said, “The infrastructural renewal across the state is another reason the association decided to regroup to support Ambode because he is worthy of our votes.
“The association had been on low performance, but we have regrouped to build a strong association based on integrity so that we can contribute to what is going on in Lagos.
“Just as we believe that bringing everybody under the same umbrella will make us have a common purpose, we know that endorsing Ambode will be for the good of all.”
The president said the association would bring other traders in the same business under the group’s umbrella to ensure that everybody’s interest was protected.
