Herdsmen: Wike reconciles Ortom, Bauchi Governor

Benue Governor Samuel Ortom and his Bauchi State counterpart Bala Mohammed on Tuesday embraced after a truce brokered by Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike.

The duo had clashed publicly over herdsmen killings across the nation.

Mohammed defended herdsmen bearing AK-47 rifles, saying they do so for self-protection.

But Ortom blasted the Bauchi Governor for allegedly supporting criminality labeling him a “terrorist governor”.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) waded into the altercation between the two governors who incidentally belonged to the PDP.

Wike and his Adamawa counterpart, Ahmadu Fintiri, met with the two governors on Tuesday in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

Ortom and Mohammed embraced at the end of the meeting in Wike’s private residence.
