Friends of President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi, yesterday pleaded with Nigerians, especially the organised labour and civil society organisations to be patient and show understanding with the government as hunger and starvation aggravate in the country.

They urged the masses to allow the government at all levels to conclude ongoing efforts targeted at addressing the hardship in the country.

The group of young Nigerians under the auspices of Friend of Seyi Tinubu (FOST) at a news conference addressed by the founder, Adejonrin Tai Manuel, admitted that the majority of Nigerians are currently in distress.

Rather than embarking on protests that could be hijacked by hoodlums and further complicate the already bad situation, FOST members urged the people to expect positive changes from Tinubu’s ongoing consultations with the critical stakeholders.

Tai Manuel said, “Fellow Nigerians, in these challenging times, we come before you with a humble plea and a sincere request for your understanding and support. As we navigate the complexities of governance, we acknowledge the challenges that may have caused distress.

“To this end, we implore you, dear Nigerians, to grant the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration more time to stabilise. Building a stable and prosperous nation is a gradual process that requires concerted efforts and collective patience.

“Your enduring understanding during this period of transformation is crucial for the success of the policies and initiatives set in motion. We humbly appeal for your continued understanding, patience, and support. Together, as one united nation, we can overcome challenges and build a brighter future for Nigeria.”

He said the fluctuation in the value of naira against major world currencies was undoubtedly a concern.

He said it was essential to approach the issue with a nuanced perspective.
