How airline staff set up KWAM1 – Patrick Doyle
Popular Nigerian actor, Patrick Doyle, has come out to defend Fuji music legend, Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (KWAM1) following his explosive clash with ValueJet officials at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
Recall that on Tuesday, KWAM1 was dramatically barred from boarding a flight after he was caught carrying a flask containing an alcoholic substance, a clear breach of aviation safety regulations.
However, the drama didn’t end there.
KWAM1 reportedly stood in front of the aircraft, blocking its movement on the runway in protest, nearly leading to a potentially deadlysituation. The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has since placed a six-month no-fly ban on the singer, a move many have called controversial.
But Patrick Doyle has now alleged that KWAM1 was provoked intentionally by staff of the airline.
In a post shared via his verified social media account, Doyle described the entire incident as a set-up meant to trigger the singer’s emotions.
“Kwam 1 was baited by the airline staff, and sadly, they succeeded in riling him,” he wrote.
He went further to share his personal experience with service personnel, claiming that some staff with grudges or inflated egosoften look for ways to embarrass celebrities.
“I have been known to go ballistic during such episodes myself,” he confessed. “These days, I just pray that God should keep such irritants far away from me.”
Doyle’s statement has since stirred reactions online, with fans divided — some saying the singer went too far, while others now believe he was targeted and mistreated.
Meanwhile, the Federal Government has defended the flight ban, with the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, stating that both the pilot and KWAM1 acted dangerously and must face equal consequences.
