‘I couldn’t have married a better wife’ – Atiku celebrates wife at 75

Former Vice-president, Atiku Abubakar on Saturday said he could not have married a better wife in his life.

Celebrating his wife, Titi who just turned 75, the former president said they have been married for over 50 years.

He wrote on X, “On the occasion of my beloved wife, Titi’s 75th birthday anniversary celebrations, I am proud to say that I couldn’t have married a better wife.”

Continuing with the post which he made alongside a video from Titi’s birthday party, Atiku said he got married to his wife against the wishes of their parents.

He added that during their wedding, over 50 years ago, they had only two friends in attendance.

“Titi and I got married against our parents’ wishes in the most daring way, with no family members, with only two friends.

“Today, we have been married for more than 50 years. Titi has been a blessing beyond measure to me and our family. I don’t know how we started calling ourselves Mummy and Daddy,” he wrote.

He further appreciated his wife for her patience as he encouraged couples to remain committed to each other.

“I thank her for being patient with my shortcomings. Patience is a virtue you can never regret. I encourage spouses to continue to be patient with each other.

“I wish Titi many more years of bliss and blessings,” Atiku added.
