Hope Uzodinma, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate Imo State and Senator for Orlu Senatorial District (Imo West), has promised to liberate the state from its shackles of underdevelopment and political bondage if elected into office.

Uzodinma made the pledge while addressing a mammoth crowd of party supporters at his campaign office in Owerri shortly on arrival from Abuja.

“Imo is now in dire need of liberation from the fascistic and draconian rule of one man who claims to be Mr. know it all,” he said.

The APC governorship candidate whose speech was intermittently interrupted with shouts of Onwa (the moon that shines for all) added, “We will have a government of transparency, local government councils will once more begin to function and our royal fathers will be accorded their due respect, honour and recognition and I will run an all inclusive government.”

“The battle has been fought and won and I plead with all those who contested the primaries with me to join me to liberate our state from its current state of abyss. Enough is enough,” he added.

Senator Uzodinma expressed gratitude to party members for the confidence reposed in him by giving him their votes in the hotly contested party primary, even as he hailed religious leaders and the church for being consistently outspoken and vociferous in denouncing the government of ineptitude and malfeasance in the state.

He also extolled Adams Oshiomhole, the national chairman of the APC as a man of principle and integrity, noting that he had, despite pressures, remained firm and resolute against injustice and iniquity.

“With your votes, I will run a government with a human face, and create wealth to wipe out the tears of the man in the street,” he said.
